Win 2 Tickets to the Icing Smiles Gala

My friend Tracy Quisenberry is an amazing woman who started a nonprofit called Icing Smiles, which delivers custom cakes to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. To date, they’ve provided cakes and treats to 2,000 families.

On Saturday, February 2, 2013, Icing Smiles will throw its Second Annual Gala at the Oak Room in Sandy Spring, MD, from 7:00-11:00 p.m.  The event will feature light hors d’oeurves, live entertainment, a silent auction, and dessert (believe me, these people know how to do dessert!).  My husband and I can’t wait to go!

I’m giving away two tickets (normally $150), to one of my readers. If you’re interested, leave a comment here noting your favorite cake flavor. One reader’s name will be randomly drawn from a hat next Tuesday.

Such a great cause and a sweet way to brighten someone’s day. Those cakes are beautiful and those little angels looks so happy.

My favorite cake is one my mom has made for me since I was little. In fact, she makes it every year for my birthday. It’s a busy-day yellow cake with homemade chocolate frosting (using Hershey’s cocoa). 🙂

What a fantastic way to cheer a child who needs to be spirited away from their illness! The fave cake in our house is a flourless chocolate cake, served up with vanilla ice cream. Yum!!! Good luck, Allison, with your blog, your books, and bringing smiles to kids’ faces.

Icing Smiles sounds like a wonderful organization. I would love to support this. My favorite cake is chocolate with lemon frosting. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. 🙂

Alas, Maryland is a bit out of the way for me.
This does not stop me from having an opinion on this subject, which is that God intended cake to be made from chocolate, with chocolate frosting, and anything else is an abomination.

Our winner is Kathryn Johnson. Congratulations, Kathryn! I hope you have a great time at the gala.

Thanks to everyone who played! I’m with Peter, James, Caryn, Flip and Katie: Chocolate all the way. But I will have to try that Parkway Deli cake, Libby. And, Jennifer, that sounds like a great cake (and a great mom).
